ANALISIS TERJEMAHAN LAGU MAUJU QALBI: STUDI PERBANDINGAN ANTARA TERJEMAHAN HARFIAH DAN ADAPTASI

Abstract

Mauju Qolbi is a song that was first popularized by a Moroccan singer named Najwa Faruk. The song Mauju Qolbi is one of the most popular songs in the Arab world. This Arabic song contains the meaning of deep sadness due to heartbreak and disappointment in love. However, translating this song into other languages can be challenging due to cultural and linguistic differences. By using the method of comparing literal translation and adaptation, the song Mauju Qolbi has a different meaning in conveying the contents of the song. Literal translation tends to be stiff and less expressive, while adaptation translation is more flexible and is able to convey nuances of feelings more effectively and poetically. Thus, the choice of translation method is highly dependent on the purpose of use because it can be interpreted as linguistic accuracy and emotional appreciation of the listener. This study aims to analyze the comparison between literal translation and adaptation of the song Mauju Qolbi into Indonesian.
