Latar belakang penelitian didasari oleh pentingnya peran guru dalam menciptakan pembelajaran yang aktif, inovatif, dan relevan dengan konteks lokal, mengingat data Kementerian Pendidikan (2022) menunjukkan bahwa 42% siswa SMP/MTs di Indonesia mengalami kesulitan memahami materi karena metode pembelajaran yang kurang variatif. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keberhasilan pembelajaran dipengaruhi oleh kemampuan guru dalam mengelola kelas, membangun komunikasi dua arah, beberapa materi dengan kehidupan sehari-hari siswa, serta memberikan motivasi yang konsisten. Hambatan yang ditemukan antara lain keterbatasan, kurangnya pelatihan inovasi bagi guru, dan rendahnya keterlibatan orang tua. Equal access to higher education can open up opportunities for people to improve their social status, but the reality in Indonesia shows that there are still gaps due to socio-economic, geographical and cultural factors. This research aims to analyze the relationship between higher education and social mobility in Indonesia using descriptive qualitative methods based on literature study. The results of the analysis show that higher education plays a significant role in opening up opportunities for social mobility, but its role is strongly influenced by family background and economic conditions. The concepts of Inequality of Educational Opportunity (IEO) and Inequality of Social Opportunity (ISO) from Boudon (1974) are relevant to use to see this phenomenon. In the context of character building, educational sociology serves as a conceptual foundation to understand how social interactions in educational settings influence the development of values, morals, and individual behavior. This study aims to elaborate on the role of educational sociology in the process of character formation of students, identify influencing factors, and offer strategies for strengthening character based on social values. The research method used is library research with qualitative descriptive analysis of literature, scientific journals, and official documents related to character education. The results show that character formation through education is not only influenced by the formal curriculum, but also by social interactions, school culture, the role of teachers, families, and the community environment. As intellectuals, students are expected to perform dual roles, both in education and in community service. This article discusses the role of students in society manifested through four main functions: agent of change, social control, iron stock, and moral force. These roles are not only conceptual but also practical in supporting national development. This study aims to explore the role of society in supporting Islamic education, particularly in creating a conducive learning environment grounded in Islamic values. The research method used is qualitative with a literature review approach, analyzing relevant sources from academic journals, books, and legal regulations. The results reveal five key forms of community involvement: revitalizing the role of the family (<em>madrasatul ula</em>), strengthening learning communities based on mosques and non-formal institutions, active participation in school/madrasah committees, support for religious education programs, and the establishment of quality-based Islamic educational institutions.
